After Installation

Activities that transpire after system installation.

Need for Technical Support

After installation there is still lots to do. Usually there are more database entries to be made. System objects need to be properly configured and fine-tuned so the system works just so. One-line diagrams need to be created and mapped onto I/O point database for real time updating and interactivity.

All this usually takes months, sometimes years after installation, depending on what is going on elsewhere. For example, utility company may be going through modernization of their substations. This process may take years to complete. As new instruments are added to new substations, new reconfiguration of SmartMaster is necessary along the way.

Also, as times goes by, utility employees come and go. The newcomers need to be retrained.

Service Contracts

BTE offers competitively priced, yearly renewable service contracts to cover customer technical support needs. These contracts guarantee availability of technical support personnel over the telephone and electronic mail. Telephone calls are answered during normal business hours. Cell phones are used in emergency situations.

Added benefits of service contracts are

  • 10% discounts on future system component purchases
  • Free software version upgrades
